The France Cybersecurity Challenge (FCSC) is a CTF organized every year by ANSSI. The FCSC aims to select the best French players to form Team France for the European Cybersecurity Challenge (ECSC).
The FCSC 2025 took place from April 18 to 27, 2025.
See you next year for the FCSC 2026!
A CTF is a cybersecurity competition presented in the form of a game where participants are invited to solve technical challenges related to the world of cybersecurity.
The FCSC is an individual jeopardy-style CTF, but there are also CTFs played in teams, as well as other game modes like Attack/Defense CTFs.
Every year, the FCSC offers between 70 and 100 new challenges aimed both at beginners and at professionals and experts in the field of cybersecurity. These challenges, with varying levels of difficulty, fall into the following technical categories: crypto, reverse, pwn, web, hardware, forensics, side-channel or fault attacks, and misc.
These challenges are created by ANSSI agents and recognized experts in the field of cybersecurity, and are available during the 10 days of the competition.
The FCSC aims to select the best French players and form Team France to participate in the European Cybersecurity Challenge (ECSC).
The ECSC is a European competition organized annually by ENISA in a different country, bringing together around thirty national teams made up of young ethical hackers. Each team consists of 10 young people from a given country and competes over two days on technical challenges. The first day is a jeopardy-style CTF like the FCSC, and the second day, is an attack-defense-style CTF.
The ECSC 2025 will take place from October 6 to 10, 2025, in Warsaw, Poland.
At the end of the 10-day FCSC competition, the challenges are added to Hackopole, the training platform developed by ANSSI that archives all FCSC challenges. Since 2019, more than 530 challenges have been made freely available to everyone to practice, learn, or simply discover careers in cybersecurity.
Unlike the competitive nature of the FCSC, Hackopole offers a calm learning environment with no time limits, where the solutions to challenges can be viewed without having completed them.
